Like fingerprints, no two hands will be the same. So why is it that most glove manufacturers believe that gloves can come in small, medium or large – if they offer a choice at all?

Everybody knows their shoe size, but how many of us actually know what gloves will fit? And, for that matter, how many of us even know how to measure our glove size?

To discover your glove size, measure (in inches) around the widest part of your hand excluding the thumb. Then measure from your middle finger to the base of the palm. You should use your dominant hand, the right if you are right-handed, and the left if you are left-handed. Often the dominant hand has more muscle and is therefore slightly bigger.

Glove Size Equivalents

Some manufacturers may indicate glove sizes by number and others by letters standing for Small, Medium, Large, etc.
